FLAGSTAFF, AZ — The University of La Verne women's track and field team had a great showing at the Moutain T's Invitational hosted at Northern Arizona University.
Elizabeth Prevedello led the Leopards with a first place finish in the pentathlon. The Azusa Pacific transfer won the event with 3,210 points, with top performances in the high jump (1.61m) and long jump (5.27m) along with a second place finish in the 800m run (2:35.64).
The graduate student's performance in the pentathlon puts her in a great position to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Boston which begin on March 8. Prevedello's mark in the high jump was also a personal best and puts her on the national performance list.

"It was a solid weekend of competition for the group," said head coach Kevin Reid. "We have several athletes that have some experience indoors and several who had never been inside for track. That combination provided a great weekend of success and experience as we move forward."
Returning All-Region and All-SCIAC junior Jade Griffin had a solid race in 200m dash, taking first among NCAA Division III runners and second overall in the event with a time of 26.06. Griffin also took seventh in the 400m dash clocking in at 1:02.02.
Fellow All-Region and All-SCIAC standout Ebony Turner also turned in the best Division III performance in her event. The senior took third in the high jump with a final height of 1.55m.
Senior Micaela Krumweide finished with the best DIII distance in the long jump, finishing with a leap of 4.97m.
Freshman Bella Lincon had a solid performance in the weight throw taking sixth with a mark of 8.17m.
The Leopards will take a trip across the country next weekend when they travel to Massachusettes to participate in the Boston U Valentine Invitational.
