Men's Golf edged by CMS

CHINO HILLS, Calif. — Pitiluk Phanomchai and Hisham Hussein both finished under par, but the University of La Verne men's golf team was just edged out by the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags 279-282 Friday at Los Serranos Country Club.

Phanomchai led the way shooting a 68, good enough to tie for the second-lowest round of the afternoon.

Hussein finished close behind, ending his round 2-under.

Jason Brown and Conner Davis both had solid rounds for the Leopards with each of them finishing with an even 72.  

Justin Eller-Hughes also finished in the low 70s, finishing his round with a score of 73. Aaron DiGiamarino turned in the fifth best score for La Verne, shooting 75.

Jonathan Shaw led the way for the Stags shooting the lowest round of the afternoon at 5-under, 67. Austin Long shot a 4-under.

Next Round: The Leopards will next travel to the Western New Mexico Invitational Fall Desert Intercollegiate Tournament with two rounds on Monday and one on Tuesday.
