Leopard Harriers Place At Vanguard Invite

The University of La Verne women's cross country placed ninth overall at the 19th annual Vanguard Invitational held at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.

La Verne had the highest team finish among Division III schools at the multi-team meet.  Azusa Pacific took top honors followed by Cal State San Marcos.

Krista Marquez placed 59th overall to lead the Leopard contingent, completing the five-kilometer course in 20:48 (6:42 per mile).  Micaela Castillo finished her race in 21:07 (6:48 per mile), good for 67th overall.

Other Leopard competitors included Bridgette Blazys (22:01), Mallorie Munoz (22:08), Amanda Santos (22:55) and Monica Hermosillo (23:20).

La Verne will next compete at the SCIAC Multi-Dual, held next Saturday at La Mirada Park.
