Leos Fall to Redlands on the Road
The University of La Verne women's water polo team fell to the University of Redlands 14-6 in SCIAC action on Wednesday night in Redlands.
The Leopards were able to score two goals in the first quarter and another pair in the second. Redlands came out firing with five goals scored in the first and three in the second to head into the second half of play with an 8-4 advantage.
La Verne was held scoreless in the third quarter while the Bulldogs went on to tally three goals. The Leos fought back in the final quarter of the match, scoring two goals, but Redlands was able to add three more goals leading to their 14-6 victory.
La Verne was led offensively by Maddie Lovrensky who scored three goals in the match. She was followed by Bethie Ross who had two goals, and Erika Vargas who contributed one goal.
The Leopards will be hosting Caltech on Saturday morning for their final home game of the season. Before the game, La Verne will be honoring a quartet of seniors which include Brittany Orduno, Brianna DiCarlo, Ashley Forsberg, and Erika Vargas. The match will begin at 11:00 am at La Verne Aquatics Center.
