Kelsi Robinson had nine kills without committing an error on 12 attempts (.750) and Destinee Sales pitched in eight kills. La Verne hit .360 as a team and committed just 11 attacking errors.

La Verne came out of the gates firing, hitting .375 while holding the Tigers to .083 in the first set. Oxy hung with La Verne early but the Leopards used a 5-0 run keyed by two Sales kill to get out to a 16-11 lead and grab control of the set. La Verne held top Oxy hitters Amanda Herold and Claire Strohm to just .000 hitting in the set.

The second set wasn't close as La Verne ripped off 11 straight points after conceding the first two points of the set and never looked back. Ashlyn Cross had a kill and an ace and Yaxley put away two kills during the stretch.

The third set started out more evenly as the Tigers grabbed an 11-9 lead, but the Leopards went on a 7-1 run helped by five errors by Oxy to take a 16-12 lead and never relinquished the advantage.

The Leopards return to action tomorrow at home against Chapman. First serve is at 6 p.m.
