Holz Sets Personal Best In Heptathlon

Senior Clarissa Holz registered a personal best in the heptathlon with a total of 4,270 points at the Mt. SAC Relays/California Multi-Events Invitational held Wednesday and Thursday on the campus of Azusa Pacific.

Holz she concluded Thursday's action with efforts of 16 feet, 3 inches in the long jump, 117 feet in the javelin and 2:26.9 in the 800 meters.  On Wednesday, she competed in the 100 meter hurdles (17.36), high jump (4-11 1/2), shot put (32-6) and 200 meter dash (27.26).

Her total of 4,270 points currently stands at No.12 nationally among Division III competitors.  The La Verne school record in the heptathlon was set by Tricia Wright in 1988 with 4,361 total points.
