Leopard Women Shine At Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers

Paced by four event wins, the University of La Verne enjoyed several strong performances at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers meet held Saturday at Strehle Track in Claremont.

La Verne sprinter Nicole Crutchfield captured the 100 meter dash with a winning time of 12.56.  The other event win on the track for the Leopards occurred in the 4 x 400 meter relay when the middle distance foursome of Nancy Andrade, Alysse Thummel, Shelby Sato and Yanet Urciaga combined to capture the 4 x 400 meter relay in a time of 4:14.38.

The Leopards received an outstanding effort from Andrea Arceo in the mile run as she placed third overall with a time of 5:27.52.

In field events, La Verne captured victories in both the pole vault and javelin, where Katie Yeager and Kendall Kraiss enjoyed first place efforts.  Yeager leaped 10-11 3/4 in the pole vault to tie for first place.  Kraiss led a 1-2 Leopard finish in the javelin with a heave of 115-5.  Christiana Coughlin placed second with a toss of 111-4.

The Leopards will next be in action next Saturday at the Rossi Relays in Claremont on February 25.
