Trio Of Leopards Earn ITA Scholar Athlete Honors

Brooke Hines is a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete honoree

Three members of the University of La Verne tennis team were recognized for academic excellence by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).  The Leopard trio of junior Jeanette Losaria, sophomore Brooke Hines and freshman Megan Soucy collected individual accolades as ITA Scholar Athletes.

Hines, a 2012 ITA Scholar Athlete honoree, earns distinction for the second consecutive year while Losaria and Soucy are first-time selections.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

La Verne is coming off of a 2013 season in which it earned its first-ever national ranking, concluding the season at No. 28 in the final ITA Top 30 Poll.
