ULV Falls On The Road To Redlands

The University of La Verne women's tennis team suffered its first defeat in SCIAC competition, falling 8-1 to host University of Redlands on Saturday.

ULV (3-4, 3-1 SCIAC) only earned one win in the dual match, arriving at singles No. 3 behind freshman Rebecca Rodriguez. After dropping the first set 6-3 to Bulldog Natalie Krzmarzick, Rodriguez took the second off the same score and then won the tiebreaker 10-7 to claim victory.

Redlands was in command in singles play, winning five of the six matches.

Both Nicole Harden (No.1) and Lacey Wiles (No. 2) fell in their respective courts on 6-0, 6-1 results. Additionally, Jennifer Schiller lost 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 and Ashley Roy experienced a 6-1, 6-2 defeat at No. 6.

Before singles action, the Bulldogs swept the Leopards in the doubles contests behind 8-0 scores in the three matches.

La Verne next faces Chapman at the Claremont Tennis Club on Thursday, February 28, at 3 p.m.
