La Verne Competes With Biola And APU

The University of La Verne women's swimming and diving team competed against NAIA opponents Biola University and Azusa Pacific in a non-scoring match last Saturday morning.

Tiffany Martin swam back-to-back races, starting with the 50 yard freestyle (27.25) and then in the 200 yard butterfly (2:30.54). Freshmen Jaycee Hallford and Tori Moreno also swam in the 50 free, finishing with a time of 28.16 and 46.28 respectively.

Nikola Affolter was the Leopard's top finisher in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:25.66 and teammate Danielle Burgess finished right behind her with 2:26.62.

Terrah Carroll swam the 100 yard freestyle in 1:01.25 while fellow freshman Jaimi Law finished in 1:07.08.

The Leopards will host the Leopard Invitational this Saturday in the first scoring match of the 2009 season. The divers will kick off the meet at 9:00am.
