Kayce Matsunaga had an outstanding career at Canyon High School playing four years at the varsity level as a defender and earning her position as a starter and captain. Kayce earned All-League First-Team honors, All-SCV First-Team, All-CIF Second-Team, and Defender of the Year for both her junior and senior years. She also participated in swim and cross country, and graduated in 2004.

Matsunaga attended the College of the Canyons after high school where she played soccer, and once again earned her spot as a starter and captain of the team. During her two years at College of the Canyons, Kayce received All-Conferece First-Team honors and Defender of the Year, graduating in 2006 with her Associates Degree.

From 2006-2008 Kayce attended the University of La Verne where she was a starter on the women’s soccer team, and also contributed to the swimming and diving team. Matsunaga majored in Movement and Sports Science with an emphasis in Teaching, and graduated in 2008. Kayce is currently enrolled in the La Verne graduate program where she is studying to get her MA in Education.
