LA VERNE, Calif. — The University of La Verne women's soccer team fell behind 1-0 in the first half to Cal Lutheran and couldn't recover, losing 2-0 Saturday night.
Season Impact: The Leopards move to 9-4-3 overall and 5-4-3 in the SCIAC. La Verne remains in second place in the SCIAC. First place Cal Lutheran improves to 13-2-2 overall and 9-1-2 in conference play.
Joss Pereda gave the Regals a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute scoring an unassisted goal. Kali Youngdahl added the insurance goal in the 89th minute.
Jasmine Valadez finished with four saves.
The Leopards best chance came in the 71st minute on a header by Hernandez. The senior out jumped the defense but the ball sailed just over the net.
