Women's Soccer Schedule Released
La Verne women's soccer has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2012 season under first-year coach Antoinette Love. The schedule includes 14 conference games along with nine home contests at the newly renovated Ortmayer Stadium.
The Leopards begin the season with a three-game homestand, beginning with Mills College on September 2 in the season opener. Included in the homestand is Lewis & Clark (Sept. 7) and Bethesda (Sept. 8).
Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play begins on the road on September 12 against Cal Lutheran. The first SCIAC home game is September 19 against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, followed by the first-ever league game against new member Chapman three nights later on September 22.
La Verne's September 26 game at Redlands kicks off a four-game stretch on the road. The Leos return home against Whittier October 10, and will conclude the regular season with three straight home contests against Redlands (Oct. 20), Occidental (Oct. 24) and Pomona-Pitzer (Oct. 27).
The Leopards will look to earn a berth into the SCIAC Postseason Tournament, which will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
