Ryan Turcott is in his first season with the University of La
Verne men’s basketball program, serving as the team’s
graduate assistant. Turcott enjoyed a successful playing career at
Pacific University in Oregon, where he was a three-year starter. As
as a sophomore (2005-06) he led the Northwest Conference in free
throw percentage, and led the Boxers in both steals and assists
during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.
Turcott broke into the coaching ranks a year ago (2008-09),
serving as an assistant at Archbishop Murphy High School under his
older brother Greg in Mill Creek, Washington.
A three-sport athlete at Helena Capital High School in Montana,
Turcott was an all-state selection in football and was a captain
and two-year starter on the basketball team.
Ryan’s father Gary Turcott coached 19 seasons at Carroll
College in Helena, Montana, before retiring in 2009. The elder
Turcott was a five-time conference coach of the year while
collecting seven conference championships while at Carroll.
