Leopard Quartet Establishes Sprint Medley Record At Rossi Relays

The University of La Verne men's track and field team participated in the 2009 Rossi Relays held Saturday at Burns Track & Field Complex on the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps campus.

The meet was highlighted by a school record performance in the seldom-run 1600 meter sprint medley relay.  The Leopard tandem of Adam Kazub, Travis Foster, Michael Rodgers and Marcus Fortugno raced to a time of 3:39.97 to place 7th overall.

Foster would go on to finish 6th overall in the 100 meters in 11.37, the highest placing by a Leopard individual on the track.

In field events, Jordan Murphy enjoyed a pair of Top 10 finishes which included an 8th place performance in the shot put (44-8) along with a 9th place effort in the hammer (139-4).  Nick McGrail did likewise by placing 5th in the discus (133-10) and 10th in the hammer (137-9). Travis Jones finished 7th in the javelin with a toss of 165-0.
