The University of La Verne men's swimming and diving team hosted the Tigers of Occidental College in the last SCIAC meet of 2009, but came up empty in a 146-80 final Saturday afternoon at the La Verne Aquatics Center.
Although Leopards Chad Loury and Adam Kazub were the only two divers in the entire meet, Loury received some of his highest marks on the 1 Meter Dive (218.00) and the 3 Meter Dive (214.05), while adding in some humor by jumping from the 3 Meter board with a purple cape. Adam Kazub recorded a 178.30 in the 1 Meter Dive and a 150.60 in the 3 Meter.
Alex Hacker was the only Leopard to grab a 1st place finish for La Verne, finishing with a 58.63 in the 100 yard Butterfly. He would also take 3rd in the 50 yard Freestyle (23.96) right behind teammate James Ridings (23.32). Errol Stump would finish with a pair of 2nd place times in the 200 yard Freestyle (1:54.56) and the 100 yard Freestyle (50.94). Andrew McKay placed 3rd in the 500 yard Freestyle (5:24.87), while sophomore Anthony Rivera would finish with a 20:13.44 in the 1650 yard Freestyle, adding another 3rd place score for La Verne.
