La Verne men's swimming and diving team hosted the visiting
Bulldogs from the University of Redlands, but fell short in a
64-177 finish Saturday morning at the La Verne Aquatics Center.
Leopard Chad Loury finished 2nd in the 3 Meter Dive (179.30), but
finished 1st in the 1 Meter Dive (168.15). Teammate Adam Kazub
finished 3rd in both events with a 151.75 finish in the 1 Meter
Dive and 162.95 in the 3 Meter Dive.
The Leopard 200 yard Freestyle Relay team of Johannes Geist,
Cameron Denton, Brad Denton, and Andrew McKay finished 2nd with a
time of 136.88. But it was sophomore Anthony Rivera who was able to
make the biggest impact for La Verne's score with a 1st place
finish in the 200 yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:36.21. Brett
Case finished 3rd in the 100 yard Freestyle with 53.72, while Errol
Stump finished 3rd in the 50 yard Freestyle.
The Leopards will hold one last conference event against
Occidental College for the 2009 season, where the coaching staff
will hold a special ceremony recognizing the graduating seniors.
The meet will begin at 10:00am.
