Leos Fall To Poets In Overtime

The Leopards traveled to Whittier to take on the Poets in an attempt to snap a 5-game losing streak, but came up empty in a 2-1 final despite pushing the game into overtime.

The play was even in the first half, as the Leopards took five shots to the Poets four. Both teams relied on physical play, recording 20 fouls in the first period. But neither team would get on the board, and the teams would remain scoreless heading into halftime.

Five minutes into the second half, Aldolfo Santos found Srdan Jovanovic to put Whittier on the board. As time was winding down, junior Taylor Hart tied the game in the last minute off of an assist from Bryan Mejia. The goal would send the game into overtime, where Jovanovic would score his second goal of the game, giving the Poets a 2-1 victory.

The Leopards will take a break from SCIAC action and head to Riverside to take on La Sierra Monday night. The match will begin at 7:00pm.
