Leopards Rank #4 In Golf World Preseason Poll
The University of La Verne golf team is ranked #4 nationally in the Golf World/Nike Golf NCAA Division Preseason Poll released Wednesday.
The Leopards, which placed fifth at the NCAA Championships, received 320 points in the preseason poll to hold down the fourth spot.
Defending NCAA Champ Methodist grabbed the top spot with 390 points and were followed by Huntingdon (372), Guilford (365), La Verne (320) and St. John's-MN (316) to round out the Top 5.
"Building off two consecutive Top 5 finishes at NCAA Championship as well as four consecutive SCIAC Conference Championships, we are excited to begin the season ranked in the Top 5 of the poll," said Leopard head coach Eric Riehle. "As expectations are with each new season, we are working attentively towards being one of the top teams in the country and competing for championships."
