Leopards In 15th Place Thru Three Rounds At NCAA Championships
The University of La Verne golf team finds itself in 15th place after completing third round action at the NCAA Division III Championships Thursday at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.
The Leopards shot 320 on the day for a three-round total of 920 (298-302-320) entering Friday's final round.
The top two teams heading into Friday hail from North Carolina as Greensboro College (877) sits atop the leaderboard with Methodist University (880) holding second place just three shots behind.
La Verne is three strokes behind 14th place Wisconsin Eau Claire (917) and six shots back of 13th place Millikin (914).
Andrew Roque shot a 76 while Josh Haynes carded a 77 during Thursday's third round. Roque's three-round total of 227 is tied for 41st among inidividuals and is the highest Leopard performance entering Friday.
Kevin Smith finished with an 83 followed by Eric Bunge and Nick Ericson who each shot 84.
The Leopards will begin their fourth round on the Grandover East Course Friday beginning at 7:30 am EDT.
