Leopards Prevail At St. Patrick's Day Invitational
Mitch Fedorka paced the Leopards with a 71 to finish tied for first overall

The University of La Verne golf team claimed first place at the St. Patrick's Day Invitational held Wednesday at East Valley Golf Club.

The Leopards finished with a team total of 301 to win the competition by 17 strokes.  Puget Sound placed second (318) followed by Redlands (319) to round out the top three schools.

Mitch Fedorka tied for first overall in the individual standings with a 71 to pace the Leopard squad.  Eric Bunge followed with a 74 along with Matt Bernal who finished with a 75.  Kevin Smith shot 81 while Ryan Waring completed his round at 82.

La Verne currently ranks #9 nationally in Golfstat.com and #11 in the Golfworld/Nike Golf rankings among Division III schools.

The Leopards next compete at the Cal Poly/Lampkin Match Play next weekend (March 25-26) at Cypress Ridge Golf Club in Arroyo Grande.
