NCAA Championships: Leopards Finish 9th Overall

The University of La Verne golf team concluded action at the NCAA Championships with a combined fourth round of 308 (+24) to earn a ninth-place overall effort with a four-round total 1219 in the team standings at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, GA.

The ninth-place finish gives La Verne, which placed second overall a year ago, consecutive Top 10 finishes at the NCAAs for the first time in school history.

St. John's (MN) claimed its second straight NCAA title with a four-round effort of 1192 to defeat second-place Redlands (1195) by three strokes.

Junior Rizal Amin enjoyed the low round for the SCIAC Champion Leopards on the final day, posting a 75 (+4) on the Par 71 Chateau course. Amin finished the tournament with a team-best 302 (+18) through four rounds to earn a 23rd place effort. Senior Jordan Talah fired a 76 on Friday followed by sophomore Mitchell Fedorka (78) and Andrew Kramer (79).

Fedorka tied for 37th overall at 305 with senior Chris Davis finishing 50th at 309.

Amin and Davis were selected as Third Team All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) following the NCAA Championships.
