Leopards Move To 6th In National Poll

The University of La Verne golf team moved up two notches to 6th in the latest Golfworld/Nike Golf Division III Coaches Poll released April 23.

The Leopards received one first-place vote in the poll, garnering 276 points overall. Methodist (NC) remains in the top spot with 374 points along with 14 first-place votes. Oglethorpe (GA) is second in the poll followed by St. John's (MN), Huntingdon (AL) and Gustavus Adolphus (MN) to round out the top five.

SCIAC member Redlands is ranked 11th

La Verne bolstered its standing by capturing the West Region Invitational Tournament earlier this month. The Leopards have also won each of the four SCIAC Tournaments thus far.

ULV continues league action in the SCIAC #5 Tournament Thursday at Sterling Hills.
