Bastos, Wolpe Selected To NABC Honors Court
For the second consecutive year, the duo of Jonathan Bastos and Alex Wolpe represented the University of La Verne men's basketball program on the NABC Honors Court compiled by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, honoring players from all levels of college basketball for academic and athletic success.
Both Bastos and Wolpe earned NABC Honors Court recognition a year ago and repeat their selections for the 2011-12 season
A senior from Mission Viejo, Bastos also started in 17 games in 2011-12, averaging 6.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the Leos. He recently earned his degree in business administration.
A junior from Redlands, Wolpe was a member of the Leopard squad and is currently majoring in computer science.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, the student-athlete must be either a junior or senior on the varsity basketball team, maintain at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year, and must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
