MINNEAPOLIS — Dallas Parent and James Ferraro of the University of La Verne football team were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for their big games in a 57-56 win over Occidental on Oct. 15.
Parent tallied a staggering 298 yards on 28 carries while scoring four touchdowns. He took the game's first play from scrimmage to the house for a 75-yard touchdown and scored twice each half. He consistently gashed the Tigers' defense for chunk gains and averaged 10.6 yards per carry.
Ferraro was recognized for his play in defensive backfield and on special teams. He blocked one field goal, made three tackles and defended five passes thrown in his way against one of the nation's top quarterback-receiver duos of Bryan Scott and Ian Bonde. He also pressured Oxy kicker Garrett Bronken on the final play of the game, allowing Jose Aguero a free lane to block the kick and preserve the Leopards' slim margin of victory.
The Leopards are back in action this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Chapman.
