Leopard women conclude season at West Region championships
The La Verne women's cross country team finished the season placing 16th in the NCAA Division III West Regional on Saturday in Claremont.
Whitworth University finished first for the women with a time of 1:54:09.02. Whitman finished second overall with a time of 1:57:48.17 followed by Claremont Mudd-Scripps with a time of 1:57:34.94.
The top overall finisher was Alicia Freese from Pomona-Pitzer with a time of 22:07.60.
The first finisher for La Verne was Brigitte Blazys (75) with a time of 25:32.02. Rounding out the top three Leopard finishers were Micaela Castillo (77) at 25:38.95 and Sydney Rose (94) at 26:15.76.
La Verne raced six women Saturday with Stephanie Fuentes (107), Guadalupe Camberos (109) and Amber Blackshear (110) also competing in the race.
