Leopard women place 26th at UCR Invite

The University of La Verne women's cross country earned a respectable 26th place team placing at the multi-team UC Riverside Invitational Saturday at the UCR Farm Course.
Among Division III squads, La Verne placed 6th overall.
Krista Marquez was the top Leopard performer at the meet, completing the five-kilometer course in 20:06.04 to finish in the top third of all competitors. Marquez was followed by Micaela Castillo, who turned in a time of 20:39.4.
Other La Verne participants included Amanda Santos who crossed the line in 21:15.4 and was followed by Mallorie Munoz (21:30.0) and Bridgett Blayzs (22:04.8).
La Verne will next be in action at the Vanguard Invitational Oct. 11 in Costa Mesa.
