The University of La Verne volleyball team extended its win streak to six consecutive matches by defeating the California Institute of Technology 3-0 in SCIAC action Tuesday night in Pasadena.
Set scores were 25-9, 25-9, 25-6.
The Leopards enjoyed a .506 hitting percentage on the evening and completed the third set without committing a hitting error (17 K, 0 E, 28 TA).
Crista Jones hit .696 while recording a match-high 16 kills. She also added 12 digs to notch a double-double. Freshman Randi Toomay finished with 9 kills on her way to a .450 hitting percentage. Anna Calmer and Catie Logan contributed 7 and 6 kills, respectively.
The setting duo of Kendall Kraiss (17) and Yesenia Lopez (16) combined for 33 assists with libero Mika Chan recording a match-high 16 digs in the sweep.
With the win, La Verne improves to 17-11 overall and 7-3 in SCIAC play. The Leopards resume league action Friday night as they travel to Thousand Oaks to take on Cal Lutheran for a 7:30 pm start.
