Leos Fall Short In Defeat To Pacific

The University of La Verne men’s soccer team drops its first game of the 2008 season with a loss to the Pacific University Boxers, losing the first of a two game road trip up in Oregon. 

Boxer junior midfielder Kevin Fujimoto scored on an assist from sophomore forward Michael Iacolucci in the 33rd minute, giving Pacific University a 1-0 lead at the half.  Despite making two of his four save early saves in the second half, ULV junior goalkeeper Adan Jaime was unable to gets his hands on the final goal by Pacific University’s Danny Williams off an assist from midfielder Kizuma Tsutakawa 9 minutes into the second half. 

Pacific University goalkeeper Andrew Stevermer had to come up with six saves, blocking five different ULV players (De Alba, Cabrera, Hoffman, Mejia, and Van Kleeck) to shut out the Leopards in a game that was plagued with yellow cards (4 on ULV, 1 on PAC) and fouls.

The University of La Verne men’s soccer team looks for its third win of the season the second game of a two-game Oregon road trip against Corban College.
