Nine Leopards Earn SCIAC All-Academic Honors


The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) has announced the 2008-2009 Football All-Academic Team which includes nine players from the University of La Verne. 

The Leopards placed three seniors on the squad including wide receivers John Ausman and Charles Lacy along with defensive back Grant Woods. 

Running back Jacob Tobias was the Leopards' lone junior represented while defensive back Taylor Hart and tight end David Bradley were La Verne's two sophomores on the squad.

Three freshman were represented, including defensive back Ryan Baranek, offensive lineman Nick Homan and kicker Wesley Dean.

The team includes eighty-seven (87) student-athletes from the seven SCIAC institutions sponsoring football.

To be eligible for recognition on the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have an overall GPA of 3.2 or better and have started in at least one game during the current season.
