Julie Smith is in her sixth year with the University of La Verne and fifth in the role of Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator.

Among her numerous duties, Smith is involved in both marketing and fundraising for the department.  She has been instrumental in the planning and formation of La Verne's Student-Athlete Recognition Day, and helped spearhead the design of the new Leopard Athletic logo and word marks.

Smith also serves as the Leopard softball coach, a position she has held since 2008 and has made three trips to the NCAA Tournament. 

An accomplished softball player, Smith was the starting second baseman on the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team that captured the gold medal in Atlanta.  She also was a member of two World Championship teams and three Pan American squads that earned gold medals.
